“I have been to several walks and events organised by PA West Midlands since October. Each walk has been well organised and security has been a priority. It has been absolutely wonderful meeting up with and getting to know others in our group. Myself and my husband have made some genuine friendships and we arrange meetings outside of official PA meet ups quite often. It's amazing how easy it is to get on with 'strangers' that seem to share my thoughts, feelings and ideologies. Community building, sharing ideas, supporting each other and working together is so important in our divided modern world and I think that getting to know each other in real life is essential. "I have been on a number of PA hikes and it's great going to places around the country I've never been to before and getting out to meet new people, especially during the lockdown. It's so relaxing being able to actually talk openly about nationalism without worrying about offending someone or getting into an argument. Keeping your thoughts to yourself can be very lonely and isolating and it is a great release from that. I couldn't recommend getting involved highly enough. It can be nerve-wracking for the first time, but there are always new people, and in my experience the event security has always been treated seriously.”
